My name is Djolan Captieux and I am a wildlife artist.

I was born in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean and moved to the United Kingdom in 2009. As almost every child, I had a fondness when it came to wildlife. I have been drawing since I can remember and picked up oil painting quite fast.

I specialise in realism, whether it is capturing a lion's portrait or an animal in its natural habitat, the joy of seeing the painting come to life with the viewer believing in the scene depicted is second to none.
